Judges awarded Silver as the highest honor in the education category during the 2008 NeoCon World Trade's Fair in Chicago.SmartLink also received a Grand Prize in Buildings magazine's 2008 Product Innovations Awards that were announced at the 2008 NeoCon World Trade's Fair. The pricing range for the SmartLink system varies from $220 per student desk to $3,700 for the Wall Rail system with boards. Jim Cahill, vice president, education and systems; John Bann, product business manager, education; John Biondo, industrial designer; Scott Schultz, industrial designer; Travis Wright and Ben Proctor, all from The HON Company, designed the SmartLink Classroom Furniture System.The teacher station is made with aluminum extrusions, castings and steel side panels with heavy-duty casters, locking tray and center drawer and pedestals with a limited lifetime warranty. Aluminum extrusions, castings and steel sides with heavy-duty casters and optional locking doors were also used on the Modular Storage. The Wall Rail System and accessories fasten securely, and the Student Desks boast durable tops and legs with a 10-year warranty.
