Walton Carpet

The Walton carpet from the New Traditionals collection modernizes classic Oriental patterning. The melon color shines on a background of warm gray; both tones are rendered in hand-knotted Dandong silk dyed in small lots using colorfast European dyes.

Founded in 1996 by Principals and Creative Directors Janis Provisor and Brad Davis, Fort Street Studio is world renowned for its painterly hand-knotted wild silk and wool carpets that combine the traditional with modern, sophisticated aesthetics. The company has worldwide operations, with offices and showrooms in New York, Los Angeles and a brand new Hong Kong Flagship, where the luxurious carpets are displayed in a high-end boutique environment and caters to an exclusive clientele that includes the top interior designers and architects in the world. The company is widely recognized for its artistic creations, and has mounted highly acclaimed exhibitions in Paris, London and Milan. In late 2010, Ms. Provisor and Mr. Davis were tapped by the venerable French fashion house Hermés to design the carpets for their new home line, Hermés La Maison. Most recently the couple has been invited to judge the 2014 Domotex Carpet Design Awards, which recognizes excellence in design of hand-made carpets, at the world’s most important international carpet and flooring show.
