The Design Process

Named in celebration of the nursing pioneer, Florence Nightingale, the Flo Lounge Collection begins with a well-proportioned linear design that speaks of modernity, while its low profile and finer details add an aura of comfort and relaxation.

“We wanted to design something soft, inviting and comfortable, whist still being structured – something that wouldn’t become baggy or puddled. After years of use, Flo will look as it did the day you purchased it,” says Mark Barrell, Design Director, Boss Design.

Sustainability

Flo’s seat, back and contoured arms have been designed for longevity. Internally, the cushions are made from robust polyurethane foam. The unique arm forms are injection molded, eliminating the waste generated by a cut foam process. Both sofa and chair can be easily disassembled, and the back, seat and arms are shaped for easy future reupholstery, making Flo an ideal choice for customers wanting long-lasting furniture that will lower their carbon footprint.

“When the time comes for a refurbishment, or even when part of the seat needs a refresh, the Flo sofa and chair come apart easily and re-covering the cushions is a simple process. When this seating reaches end-of-life, the materials are easy to separate for recycling.”
