BLUE BOW TULIP CORNFLOWER "DOLLY VARDEN patt

An outsized 1930s floral applique is a real find. This one goes a step further-- it is a documented pattern from Indianapolis quilt designer Esther O'Neill called "Dolly Varden", one of about eight different ones she created for you to sew up yourself. The charming central garland gathered with a bow is framed by panels of flowers all around. One inch cross hatch quilting adds texture and contrast to the silky surface of the ground. Size: 86" x 96" (fits queen size bed, could even span a king) Period: 1920-30 Condition: Excellent untouched condition, one spot Material: cotton; cotton sateen ground
