Key goals included improving sanitation and allergen control while introducing a convertible drying option that adapts to seasonal needs. The product was created to be energy-efficient, user-friendly, and capable of delivering high-quality results for a variety of fabrics.
The Team
A cross-functional team of engineers, product designers, and laundry care experts collaborated to develop the Super Combo EZ 5500 CV. The team focused on integrating cutting-edge technologies like sensor-based water control, customizable drying options, and a range of specialty wash cycles, including Sanitize and Allergen. The team's commitment to environmental sustainability and energy efficiency led to the creation of a washer-dryer combo that minimizes energy consumption while ensuring superior cleaning and drying performance.
The Solution
The Super Combo EZ 5500 CV is a revolutionary all-in-one washer-dryer that simplifies laundry with its fully automatic operation. The 2-Step process allows users to seamlessly wash and dry 18 lbs of laundry in a single cycle, with sensors that automatically adjust water levels and drying times to optimize efficiency. The product introduces four key programs—Sanitize, Allergen, Quiet, and Winterize—designed to enhance the laundry experience by addressing common household concerns like allergens, noise, and seasonal drying needs.
What sets the EZ 5500 CV apart is its convertible drying system, which can be easily switched between vented and condensing modes at the touch of a button. This unique feature (patent pending) allows users to adapt the drying method based on environmental conditions or personal preferences. The color-coded control panel and intuitive design make operation simple and accessible for any user. | SANITIZE & SELF-CLEAN | Water is heated to 165°F to Sanitize clothes. Perfect for people working in contaminated environments to protect the family eg. hospitals. In Self-clean option water is heated to 131°F to clean the inner drum and tub of the machine and remove mold, dirt and bacteria. | BUILT-IN DIAGNOSTICS | Multiple sensors inside machine track all operations and identify faults by showing 13 error codes which help to diagnose a component malfunction. | |||||||
| ADD-A-SOCK | The wash program can be stopped at any time to add forgotten items to laundry. Press Start/Pause for 5 seconds. Door will open 2 minutes after draining water. Load clothes, close the door and restart your laundry. | |||||||
