Paisley 257

The word 'paisley' most often brings to mind the ornate pine motif that originated in Kashmir, India, where for centuries it was the most popular design motif for all kinds of fabrics. But the name for these exotic textiles actually comes from Paisley, Scotland, where shawls utilizing those popular imported patterns were printed and woven during the nineteenth century. With its crisp two-dimensional graphic imagery, our paisley fabric takes a modern approach to the traditional pattern. Paisley is bold is its scale and color, making it completely suited to contemporary spaces that need to make a strong statement with a patterned fabric. The oversized scale works with larger furniture pieces and wall and window applications, but it could be just as dramatic on small seating units as well. The sleek worsted wool construction, paired with its graphic pattern makes Paisley the perfect complement to solid, textured or striped fabrics.
