Kente Cloth 161

1996 IIDA Product Design Competition: Honorable Mention1996 IIDA ACCLAIM Award: Honorable MentionInspired by the traditional strip-woven fabrics of the Ashanti people of Africa, Kente Cloth celebrates the qualities of light against dark, color with neutral and stripes woven parallel to the selvage. The 8 rich and earthy colorways are derived from the traditional colors found in vegetable dyed fabrics in Africa, while the linen blend yarns on the surface create a subtle and refined pinstripe that is appropriate in any interior. The thick and thin linen yarns also provide the seemingly handspun, handwoven quality of the fabric which greatly adds to its appeal.
