The versatile DL Series sofa extends from a comfortable 53 long sofa to a roomy 76 overnight bed. To minimize the use of space, the end may be extended when preparing a bed. Each DL sofa is also fully upholstered for an attractive appearance and easy cleaning. The DL-27 sofa is equipped with a sliding platform that extends from either end as specified by the hospital. Two bolster cushions may be placed on the extended platform to form a mattress extension for sleeping. This concept is desirable for hospital patient rooms because it extends down the wall rather than into limited floor space. The frame construction is composed of 3/4 all welded steel tubing. Decking is made of permamesh suspended on 3 helecoil springs. Skirts are made with 3/4 plywood that is wrapped with 1/2 foam. Upholstery materials are of superior quality to meet fire codes. The sofa comes standard with swivel casters for ease of mobility. The hospital has the choice of locking or non-locking.Seat cushions and bolsters are stuffed with polyfoam to meet fire codes. Arms are constructed from selected hardwood finished with a bentwood cap. The DL Series provides easy maintenance because of its lack of moving parts.
