LightBloc Zip

Platinum Award
The LightBloc ZIP is a motorized shade system designed for complete light blocking and includes a headbox, fabric panel, side and sill channels. More of the window opening is seen with the LightBloc ZIP, because the unit’s side guide channel width is only 1-3/4", significantly smaller than the width of the side guide for a standard blackout system by Draper and other manufacturers. The LightBloc ZIP’s “zip” detail stops the fabric from being pulled out of the side channel—even when the window is open and the wind is blowing—even wind and impacts won't separate the shade from its channels. The zip detail is welded to the two vertical sides of the fabric panel, and the zip edges of the fabric panel run inside inner channels in the side channels. These inner channels are held inside the side guide extrusion and also have cushioning pads to dampen the movement of the fabric panel under windy conditions. The LightBloc Zip also offers other real benefits when compared to other blackout systems from Draper and its competitors. It's available in large sizes—through 12' x 12'. A broad range of opaque and room darkening materials can be used in the LightBloc Zip—this window covering can blend into the decor of any room, and is not limited to institutional vinyl materials. The durable powdercoat hardware finishes available are Silver (standard); Black, White, Ivory, and Charcoal Bronze.Motor Options include a standard 120V shade motor, and RTS Radio Frequency Motor—both with a variety of control options including IR or RF remote or wall switch, and the ability to tie into building automation controls so the shades can be managed with precision.
