Its sleek design is both functional and versatile, fitting seamlessly into various environments, from modern offices to educational spaces. Ergonomically designed for comfort, it features an optimized backrest, seat, and arm support to enhance user well-being. The chair’s stackable feature further maximizes space efficiency, ideal for settings where flexibility is key.
Initially launched in Howe grey, the SixE chair in recycled plastic now comes in three additional colors. This expansion provides more options for integrating sustainable furniture into your spaces.
Looks the same but makes the difference: the NCS values for colors remain identical, regardless of whether the material is virgin or recycled. This ensures that new recycled shells can be seamlessly mixed with older SixE chairs without any visual discrepancies. The recycled color palette now offers these four options:
- Red Ochre
- Black
- Chalk
- HOWE grey
By balancing recycled content with aesthetic and functional needs, HOWE has achieved a product that significantly reduces the carbon footprint while maintaining high quality and visual appeal. The SixE recycled shells boast up to four times smaller carbon footprints compared to those made from virgin plastic.
Sustainability
The carbon footprint of the recycled material production used to mould our SixE shells is up to 4 times smaller than that of virgin plastic production.
Recycled plastic needs to be thoroughly sorted to deliver a high-quality compound which, mixed with the proper pigments, is transformed into the chosen colour for SixE shells.
Unlike virgin plastic production, the making of SixE chairs from recycled plastic necessitates no creation of new material, which dramatically cuts the carbon footprint of the final product. In addition, our supplier’s production site is powered entirely by renewable energy sources, making the entire process even more earth-conscious.

HOWE Furniture was founded in 1928 in Connecticut by Harold Howe. Inspired by the early Bauhaus movement – and the principle of form following function – HOWE started out making just about any furniture that was simple and outstandingly flexible. We take pride in continuing to explore this modern design tradition.
