Designed by seating-savvy Gerard van den Berg, the Uzuri Lounge Chair (2003) echoes some iconic designs of mid-century while giving it a decidedly Dutch twist. Enveloping the user with a tall, curved back, the seat has high, slender armrests and a pad that is deep and wide enough to curl into. To achieve the lounge's unique form, polyurethane foam is injection molded to create an all-over encasement, which is then snugly upholstered in velvet-soft full-grain leather upholstery. A slightly raised splay-leg base provides a full swivel and constant stability. A zipper detail runs the length of the seat back, giving the appearance of a racing stripe. Commercial quality.
