Washlet 500

Platinum Award
Recently, TOTO achieved a major global milestone with its popular Washlet line of personal cleansing systems. The company has sold more than 30 million Washlets since their launch in 1980. To celebrate, the TOTO introduces the Washlet G500, integrated toilet and Washlet. Like the new Washlet G500, all TOTO Washlets use pure, clean water – and myriad technological innovations – to make their users cleaner, happier, more refreshed than they have ever felt after a bathroom break by reinventing the humble toilet seat as a warm water personal cleansing system. When its cleansing cycle is activated, a streamlined wand with Wonderwave technology extends from the beneath the seat to provide a soothing warm flow of aerated water for complete cleansing. Because the water is drawn directly from the home's fresh water supply, the Washlet delivers warm water that is always clean and pure. Once the cleansing cycle is completed, the user may engage the drying cycle, which uses warm air to gently dry the area, protecting environment by reducing the need for toilet tissue. Built from antibacterial plastic, the self-cleaning wand, lid, and heated SoftClose seat are ultra hygienic. The new Universal Height Washlet G500 integrates the Washlet personal cleansing system on a sleek, compact sensor-operated toilet. Its new Dual-Max Cyclone flushing system enables users to select the volume of water needed to clear the bowl -- 1.28 gpf for solid waste or 0.9 gpf for liquid, which saves money and water. Its sensor operation Washlet G500’s offers users the height of convenience and luxury as it responds to them by opening, closing, and flushing automatically. An example of the kinds of engineering inventiveness that arises from TOTO’s People-First Innovation philosophy—advances in engineering and design that meet people’s real world needs—the Washlet G500’s new Dual Max Cyclone Flushing System puts an end to a common complaint that many dual-flush owners have – the need to flush then brush the bowl after every solid stop. To achieve this, TOTO engineers redesigned the bowl’s interior, replacing the overhang found on traditional toilets with a seamless concave rim through which the high-speed water jets travel cleansing the rim and bowl, removing debris, matter, and bacteria with each flush, which greatly reduces the time needed to clean the unit. When this unit is flushed, three actions occur nearly simultaneously. First, the primary nozzle – located at the back of the bowl -- fires a high-speed stream of water that scours the rim and starts the water’s Cyclone action. Almost immediately, a second water nozzle, behind the first, fires another high-speed stream that provides 360-degrees of cleansing action. At the same time, the siphon jet harnesses the accelerating power of this rapidly rotating cyclone of water for unsurpassed waste removal at the modest 1.28 gpf volume. To complete their innovative bowl design, TOTO engineers coated the rim and bowl with SanaGloss, the company’s nano-technology glaze that seals the porcelain with an ionized barrier creating a super-slippery, non-porous surface that repels the waste and bacteria. When protected by SanaGloss, the water that rinses the bowl and rim as the toilet flushes helps to remove stains, residue, scaling, and lime buildup. Invisible organisms, including bacteria and molds, also are eliminated. Owners’ won’t need harsh detergents, which are expensive and harmful to the environment. To complete these People-First engineering innovations, TOTO reduced the Washlet G500’s water consumption--1.28 gallons per flush (gpf) for solid waste and 0.9 gpf for liquid. Averaging solid and liquid stops over the course of a day, the average flush for the elegant HET is 1.0 gpf. The sensor-activated Washlet G500’s also offers users the height of convenience and luxury as it responds to them by opening, closing, and flushing automatically. Its easy read, illuminated touch pad control memorizes their personal preferences and may be mounted to the wall in its magnetic cradle.
