Our commissions are one-of-a-kind originals, created in close collaboration with you and your client to complement and enhance the surrounding environment. We approach floors as an opportunity for creativity, innovation and historical accuracy. This enables us to developed exciting new options in flooring: our expertise in installing into existing floors, our ability to incorporate pewter and back-lit stone or glass in designs and custom installation of hand-scraped, extremely wide antique plank, are but several of the latest. Exclusive custom designing allows us to create works which fulfill both aesthetic and budget requirements. While a site visit, with our full design portfolio and wood samples, is the ideal way to begin to design your custom floors, a set of floor plans and some time on the telephone, e-mail and fax often work well. All our work is done in custom milled, full 3/4 inch thick, solid hardwoods, tongue and grooved or taper cut, hand fit and fastened for permanence. Antique plank can be custom finished and pegged, keyed or top nailed with period accurate nails. We can coordinate installation of basic flooring with a local flooring contractor, utilizing our skills and experience in doing special designs, accent pieces, key rooms and spaces, or we can contract for installation and finishing of all wood floors in the project. Cost and time for installation are based on two variables: complexity of design and the woods selected. Our years of experience and continuous research also enable us to bring you an extensive choice of fine, custom milled hardwoods. We presently offer the natural color and luminous hues of over 100 species in almost any width desired. A custom hardwood floor is a proven value of classic richness. It may be installed throughout a building or utilized in special areas such as a formal dining or living room, a corporate conference room or an executive office. Designs may be dramatic statements or subtle counterpoints, accenting aesthetic and architectural features and complementing the shape and use of space. Used in a foyer, entryway or reception area, it can set a tone of quality for the entire buiding. Emphasizing the richness, craftsmanship and attention to detail that conveys superior value, our floors provide an excellent return on investment. We are also available for consultation on flooring design, wood selection, and the technical aspects of hardwood floor installation. Consultation early in the planning stages is highly recommended.
