Government Agency, Financial Management Organization, Access to Natural Light, 25,000 SFWashington, DCComprised of over 90 Government Agency employees and contract employees from different departments, the Government Agency: Financial Management Organization, desired a new space due to increasing growth. Group Goetz Architects' ultimate design goal involves creating a unified and cohesive layout made up of 50 offices, 25 employee workstations, and 21 contractor workstations. Three conference rooms, secure record storage, and support spaces further enhance the design. The suite was designed in the spirit of sustainability and direct access to natural light was a driving factor in the design. Glass partitions at the perimeter offices and low height partitions at the interior workstations allow natural light and exterior views to enter the suite so that most occupied spaces are in direct access to natural light. High efficiency light fixtures, motion/occupancy sensors and timers were utilized throughout the space to minimize energy consumption. Conventional overhead cabinetry in workstations was replaced with tower storage to eliminate the need for additional task lighting. Most of the furniture was provided by Knoll and was Greenguard certified.
