There are two components to Group Goetz Architects' (GGA) long-term work for Marriott International; the workplace renovation of the existing 780,000 SF headquarters and a Strategic Facilities Program and analysis for a new headquarters through the year 2024. Marriott partnered with GGA to deliver Project SmartSpace, a redefinition of the existing workplace. The intent was to achieve 15% improvement in space utilization to accommodate growth, modify existing workstation standards for flexibility and effective functioning, seek lower-cost space alternatives for services not requisite in the building, improve workplace appearance and infrastructure, and accommodate for rapid growth in the short term.Group Goetz also provided Marriott with comprehensive headquarters facility management services, developing, maintaining and archiving records to create a company-wide database that would serve as a virtual map of the entire organization. This database contained updated lease information, square footage calculations, including all relevant physical information for each workstation, office, support space and public space in the headquarters complex, as well as lease and site selection analysis for off-site projects/facilities where we provided full architectural services for various interior fit-outs.
