Joanna Michalowicz is the founder and driving force behind ASHA Carpets.Her early training as a weaver commenced in Nowy Wisnicz, Poland, at the renowned Art & Design School. Consequently, she worked at the National Museum in Cracow restoring national treasures.After relocating to the United States, Joanna continued her education at New York City's Parsons School of Design, receiving a BFA in painting and sculpture. Until recently, Joanna established and presided over the department of restoration for New York's prestigious antique carpet dealer F. J. Hakimian.As a weaver, painter, designer, and textile conservator, she is uniquely qualified to oversee the production of your carpet through every stage; from inception to completion.
