New FWC Certified Fixtures
Access Fixtures, a Massachusetts manufacturer of commercial and industrial lighting, has introduced a complete line of Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission-approved fixtures. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, or FWC, mandates that in order to not disturb nesting sea turtles and other beachside wildlife, light fixtures must be 590nm, low to the ground, and shielded. Light emitted at 590 nanometers is invisible to the eyes of turtles and other wildlife, making it less likely to disturb their natural life cycles. Access Fixtures’ FWC-approved light fixtures meet these criteria and are also a good choice for those looking to minimize light trespass and glare. In certain places in Florida, violating FWC lighting regulations can warrant hefty fines.
“Our line of FWC certified luminaires includes bollard lights, area lights, canopy lights, and wall packs,” says Access Fixtures CEO Steve Rothschild. “These fixtures are perfect for anybody living on a coastline where meeting Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission standards is imperative.”
A full line of bollard lights in different styles, area lights, wall packs, and canopy lights are just some of the fixtures included in this lineup. Some features that these new FWC luminaires share include a durable housing, 590 nanometer amber light, shielding, and high IP rating. Most of the fixtures in the new line include an IP rating of 65, which means they are weatherproof against dust and water intrusion. These fixtures are available in bronze, black, sometimes white, and optional custom RAL colors. All mounting hardware is included with any purchase of FWC certified fixtures. All Access Fixtures FWC luminaires are covered by a 5-year limited Access Fixtures warranty.
