The ever growing newGROWTH
Christopher Poehlmann
CP Lighting has introduced yet another version of their ever popular newGROWTH line at the 2013 International Contemporary Furniture Fair in NYC. The newGROWTH fixtures designed and hand built by Christopher Poehlmann have evolved over the years to include wall sconces and ceiling fixtures in a wide variety of configurations including branches that hold the fixtures to the ceiling as well as wire supports that allow the branches to appear to float, and LED lens options. This year at the ICFF, Poehlmann's latest invention for upgrading this line is a Barrel of Monkeys approach -- a system of made to order branches that hang off each other in a vine-like chain to create a pendant light anywhere from 6' to over 30' tall. Each branch element is made from light weight aluminum, allowing for a 9' tall fixture for instance to weigh only 20 pounds. This new version is ideally suited for large atriums or stairwells as well as entry foyers and any other place requiring a large organic light sculpture.
