Native Trails' Americana Collection

Native Trails
Luxury sustainable kitchen and bath mainstay, Native Trails, furthers its commitment to the environment and to supporting talented American artisans with a series of expertly crafted, eco-friendly, ‘Made in America’ furnishings, the Americana Collection. Inspired by early American design, the collection of bath vanities, storage and mirrors validates the brand’s ability to create varied, durable and sustainable pieces that bring a refined, relaxed look as well as practical storage to the bath – or indeed to any living space – all while reflecting the brand’s artisan craftsmanship tradition.Made entirely in the U.S.A. on California’s Central Coast, each piece is hand constructed by artisans who use wood reclaimed from American structures of the past: old barns, barracks and fencing. By repurposing materials and transforming them into upscale furnishings, Native Trails gives them an extended life with a lasting legacy. Adding to the historic character and charm of each unique piece, the iron hardware is hand forged by blacksmiths who use traditional techniques. The collection features strong, textured pieces that create a poignant presence in the home and will last for generations.“The Americana Collection is truly special in that it connects people with the rich history of its repurposed materials and with the traditions of the craftsperson who build each piece,” said Naomi Neilson Howard, founder and CEO of Native Trails. “It’s a beautiful, soulful collection, and it’s also practical. Every piece is incredibly well built and durable – the kind of special item that becomes a family heirloom. It’s particularly gratifying to me personally that this series supports American craftsmanship and artisans and is made right here in California.”As the vanity is often the cornerstone bath furnishing, the Americana Vanity features hinged door(s) and a roomy cabinet interior to accommodate plumbing, with plenty of room left over for grooming, beauty and cleaning supplies. The Vanity is available in three sizes: 24”, 30” and 36” in length.Three storage components, the Americana Cabinet, Americana Cubby, and Americana Hutch, can be used separately or in combination to create a tower specific to the user’s needs. The Cabinet, 19” w x 15.5” d x 36” h features a central shelf and hinged door, perfect for concealed storage. The Cubby, 19” w x 16” d x 30.5” h, features an open central and bottom shelf, while the Hutch, 18.5” w x 9” d x 33” h, is outfitted with three open shelves. Both are ideal for storing linens in the bathroom; in other areas of the home they can be used for displaying photos, books or other items. The Hutch can sit atop the Cabinet or Cubby, or can be used as a separate wall-hung piece.Similar to their furniture counterparts, the Americana Mirror is hand crafted of reclaimed wood. The exceptional craftsmanship elevates the beveled glass mirrors to serve as strong stand-alone pieces or as perfect pairings with the vanities and storage pieces. The mirrors are available in two sizes: large, 25.5” w x 29.25” h and small, 21.5” w x 25.5” h.The entire Americana Collection is available in four distinctive finishes: Anvil, Whitewash, Chestnut and Driftwood. Anvil evokes the rhythmic clanging of the country blacksmith, while Whitewash channels a certain fence painted by Tom Sawyer. The warm Chestnut finish is reminiscent of harvest time, while Driftwood summons the beauty of America’s scenic coastal waters. In selecting a finish, one can change an entire look of a space—from industrialism or the modern age, to a traditional or cottage feel. All pieces in the Americana Collection can be combined with Native Trails’ collection of hand hammered copper sinks and accessories, also made by artisans and prized for their recycled content. With a variety of basin styles—undermount, vessel and raised profiles—and in either Tempered, Antique or Brushed Nickel finishes, Native Trails offers endless varieties that are sure to make a lasting and beautiful statement in the bath and beyond.

Native Trails, Inc.

Native Trails combines age-old artisan tradition with sustainable materials and sophisticated, functional design, adding character to distinctive spaces.

A Journey of Discovery
In 1996, Naomi Neilson founded Native Trails. Using her passion for artisan tradition, sustainability, and fair trade practices to bring the work of undiscovered artisans from central Mexico first to central California and then on to living spaces throughout North America. Combining the artisans’ age-old traditions with contemporary design and sustainable materials, Naomi broke new ground with Native Trails iconic copper sinks and helped to introduce copper as a mainstay material for the kitchen and bath.

Going Global
Naomi and her team continue to find new trails to be forged, researching new offerings and traveling throughout the world, searching out undiscovered artisans who can bring life to Native Trails’ innovative designs. Native Trails has expanded far beyond copper sinks; its artisan-made product lines have grown to include sinks and bathtubs made from groundbreaking NativeStone® concrete, spun-glass Italian sinks, fireclay sinks glazed with precious metals, vanities made of reclaimed wood and other sustainable materials, and a range of home decor products.

Leading the Industry
Soon after introducing its first copper basin, it became Native Trails’ core product. Native Trails was the first company to have its copper sinks certified by the UPC and listed by IAPMO, where it assisted in writing the copper basin standards.
The Decorative Plumbing & Hardware Association (DPHA) took notice of the company’s fast rise and solid accomplishments by naming Native Trails CEO Naomi Neilson the Manufacturing Professional of the Year in 2005. As a Certified B Corporation since 2019, Native Trails is proud to join others in using business as a force for good. Today, Native Trails leads the industry in artisan crafted, eco-conscious furnishings and fixtures for high end kitchen and bath design, and is featured in premier showrooms throughout the United States and Canada.
