KWC ONO touch light PRO

The KWC ONO touch light PRO kitchen faucet allows the user to control volume and temperature remotely, thanks to its completely wireless, fully portable touch-operated technologies. Simply tap the device once for the predesignated cold temperature, twice for the warm setting, or three times for the hot temperature, each with a 100 percent flow rate (1.8 gallons per minute, maximum). With two separate water outlet components — a swivel spout and a semi-professional spray — the user is allowed to position each exactly as he or she wants. The two electronic controls (one mounted, the other wireless and mobile) are also positioned separate from both the outlets and the mixer unit itself, which is usually concealed below the countertop.Wherever the consumer decides to locate the optional wireless electronic control device, a powerful, integral magnet will keep it firmly in place until he or she decides to detach and relocate it. This compact, cylindrically shaped unit fits comfortably in the palm of the user's hand, making it easy to operate.Safety is a key aspect of the touch light PRO concept. The electronic control features a colored light ring for an immediate visual cue as to the temperature selected. The programmable temperature settings and visual feedback (color change) minimize the risk of scalding, especially for the young and the elderly, as well as for users with a limited sense of touch. This is something you cannot get with hands-free faucet technology where you can put your hand under the tap to turn it on.Mounting the control unit near the edge of the countertop or on the face of counters allows for easy access for children and wheelchair users, as well as for busy cooks. By allowing for operation with an elbow or even a hip, the control unit permits hands-free control when hands are full in the kitchen (e.g., carrying or washing raw chicken), which maximizes hygiene and convenience. It also gives the user the ability to start filling a pot with water in the sink, move to another cook station (e.g. countertop, stovetop), and remotely turn the water off when the pot is full.

Sustainability

The touch-operated control allows individual fine-tuning, with three presets governing water temperature and flow rate. The control needs only a slight turn to get the temperature just right, while pressing and turning the control allows the user to adjust the flow rate. These presets can be changed at any time. As an added benefit, the user can save energy by keeping the first preset for cold water only— instead of a mix of hot and cold — to avoid wasting hot water when only cold is needed. Manufactured by KWC in Unterkulm, Switzerland, the KWC ONO touch light PRO kitchen faucet has water-saving flow rates of 1.8 gallons per minute maximum at 60 psi (pounds per square inch). KWC SAROS faucets conform to the mandatory requirements in the 2010 California Green Building Standards Code (CALGreen).

Notes

• In a conventional single-lever faucet, the mixer is actually the cartridge inside the faucet, which is controlled by the single lever. Having a separate mixer in the KWC ONO touch light PRO permits greater flexibility in where the spout, spray and the two electronic controls are positioned.• The permanently mounted electronic control can be placed as far away as 78 inches from the mixer unit i.e., that is the length of the hard wire that extends from it to the mixer. In addition, an electrical outlet must be available for the power supply located inside the mixer unit to plug into.• As mentioned above, the optional wireless, remote electronic control is a fully portable device with a magnetic base. It can be placed anywhere in the kitchen (as well as in your hand) to control the faucet, and it can be moved at any time. The wireless remote’s rechargeable battery lasts for about 40 hours of operational time, or about 3 to 4 months of elapsed time. Recharge time on the charging station is four hours.• The semi-professional spray utilizes KWC’s innovative highflex™ spring hose technology.• The spout swivels 360 °.• Power for the faucet’s operation is supplied through a 15-volt plug power supply.
