When Sub Zero Freezer and Wolf Appliance decided to build a 60,000 square foot training facility in Madison, Wisconsin, with a world-class design statement, Mick De Giulio was asked to design the facility's two main training kitchens. Mick's concepts have inspired and he has designed several best-selling product lines for premier German- and U.S.-based cabinetry manufacturer SieMatic Corporation. These include the Painters' Collection – still one of SieMatic Germany's most identifying styles in Europe today, the Bari Collection – named after Bari, Italy, the ancestral home of the De Giulio family, and the Hudson Valley line, which was selected for the restoration of the Blair House – the historic presidential guesthouse in Washington DC. Most recently, Mick was commissioned by SieMatic to develop a new collection that reflects an evolution in kitchen design – the Beaux Arts Collection. It was introduced at De Giulio's new Merchandise Mart showroom and is now being distributed nationally. As Frank Siekmann, president of SieMatic states, “Mick is a visionary in kitchen design and has aspired a collection that evokes a true change in the way we design kitchens.”de Giulio takes great pride in the individuality of their kitchen designs. Their focus is on creating an enhanced living environment individually suited to each client. Karol De Wulf Nickell, Editor-in-Chief of Better Homes and Gardens, writes: “De Giulio's philosophy is a timeless one, based upon bringing beauty and comfort to a functionally customized space.” As enthusiastic world travelers, the de Giulio designers frequently draw inspiration from worldwide architecture and design. Their consummate understanding of cultural influences and architecture from around the world is intuitively translated into their own highly original designs.
